Firas Hamdan is a seasoned data strategy and governance leader with more than twenty years of experience advising organizations on enterprise data management, analytics, and regulatory compliance. He is the Founder and CEO of Dataletheia, where he works with public- and private-sector institutions across Australia and the Middle East to transform complex data environments into trusted, strategic assets. His work focuses on elevating organizational data maturity to support accountable, data-driven decision-making at scale.

Across his career, Firas has led large, multi-million-dollar data transformation programs in highly regulated environments, partnering closely with executives, regulators, and government agencies. His expertise spans enterprise data strategy, governance frameworks, metadata and lineage management, and privacy and security compliance, with deep familiarity across global standards including ISO 42001, GDPR, ISO 27001, and national data management frameworks. Known for balancing technical rigor with operational pragmatism, he helps organizations embed sustainable governance models that strengthen data quality, transparency, and institutional trust. As a Senior Executive Fellow at The Digital Economist, Firas contributes to the Tech Policy and Governance workstream, bringing a practitioner’s perspective on how data governance, AI readiness, and regulatory alignment intersect. He focuses on the policy and institutional conditions required for responsible data and AI deployment—ensuring that governance frameworks are not only compliant, but also enabling of innovation, resilience, and long-term public value.
