Mat Yarger

About

Mat Yarger is a product and technology leader specializing in AI governance, trusted data infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital trust systems. He is Founder and CEO of Demia, where he leads the development of an operational intelligence platform that turns fragmented operational data into verified, tamper-evident records with provenance and chain of custody. He owns Demia's product strategy and technology architecture, including its zero-trust data platform and AI systems, and leads its information security and data governance programs across SOC 2, ISO 27001, and ISO 9001 readiness. His work spans critical commodity supply chains, environmental services, carbon markets, and federal and defense applications.

Previously, Mat held senior product and technology leadership roles at the IOTA Foundation, where he led product teams across distributed data, identity, access, sustainability, smart mobility, and public-sector technology. He managed strategic relationships with major enterprise partners, including work with Dell, Intel, and the Linux Foundation on data confidence infrastructure, and led initiatives to advance digital MRV and open standards for carbon markets. He also chaired Gold Standard's Digital Infrastructure and Open APIs Working Group, bringing together organizations to develop digital infrastructure and standards for carbon markets. Earlier in his career, Mat worked in digital forensics for federal cybercrime investigations, served as a cybersecurity analyst and cyber operations planner with the U.S. Army supporting U.S. Cyber Command, and worked as a systems and network administrator at the National Security Agency. His career combines product leadership, cybersecurity, distributed systems, AI, data governance, and standards development, with a consistent focus on making digital systems independently verifiable and trustworthy.
