About

Omar Ahmed Darwazah is a venture capitalist, investor, and entrepreneur with deep expertise in blockchain, digital assets, fintech, and emerging technologies. He is the Managing Director and General Partner of AAF Management Ltd., an early-stage venture capital firm he co-founded in 2016 that invests in pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A technology companies across North America, as well as emerging venture fund managers globally. Under his leadership, AAF has grown to nearly $250 million in assets under management, investing in more than 138 venture-backed startups and 39 emerging managers while building a globally diversified portfolio spanning financial technology, enterprise software, healthcare, consumer technology, and deep tech.

Prior to founding AAF, Omar spent a decade at OCI N.V., where he focused on investor relations, strategy, and corporate finance, contributing to more than $35 billion in corporate transactions. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Deloitte Tax LLP and Deutsche Bank's Leveraged Finance team, building a strong foundation in finance, capital markets, and investment strategy. Beyond investing, Omar serves on the Board of TechWadi and mentors entrepreneurs through the University of Chicago's Polsky Center and the NYU Steinhardt EdTech Accelerator. As a 2026–27 Senior Executive Fellow in Digital Assets & Blockchain at The Digital Economist, he contributes expertise on venture capital, blockchain ecosystems, tokenized markets, and the future of digital finance, bringing an investor's perspective to advancing responsible innovation and the next generation of digital infrastructure.
