Troy James Wilkinson is a cybersecurity executive and security leader whose career spans cyber investigations, enterprise security leadership, and emerging technology risk. His professional path began in public service, including work in law enforcement, investigating violent crime, terrorism, and cybercrime. He later served with the US Department of State, seconded to missions connected to the United Nations and the European Union in Kosovo, where he led investigations into organized crime, corruption, financial crime, and cyber-enabled threats. During this period, he helped establish the first digital forensics laboratory for the EU mission in Kosovo and trained international investigators in cybercrime and digital evidence.
Wilkinson later transitioned into the private sector, where he held senior cybersecurity leadership roles across multinational organizations. He served as Global Chief Information Security Officer at Interpublic Group (IPG), a Fortune 500 marketing and communications company operating in more than 130 countries, where he led global cybersecurity strategy, security engineering, and security operations across a distributed enterprise environment. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at International Cruise & Excursions (now arrivia) and was the technical Co-Founder and board member of Tego Cyber, a cybersecurity company focused on improving threat intelligence and security data capabilities for security operations teams.
Today, Wilkinson serves as Founder and Strategic Advisor at Kyber Technology and Venture Advisor at YL Ventures, where he works with cybersecurity founders, investors, and enterprise security leaders to evaluate emerging technologies, strengthen security programs, and support the next generation of cybersecurity innovation. As a 2026 Senior Executive Fellow, Cyber Studio at The Digital Economist, he contributes expertise on cyber resilience, emerging technology security, and the leadership challenges of protecting complex digital systems in an evolving threat landscape.
