Dr. Dimitrios Salampasis is an award-winning, globally recognized thought leader, educator, and researcher working at the intersection of innovation and business strategy, global affairs and geopolitics, digital economy (FinTech), and emerging technologies. He serves as an Associate Professor of Emerging Technologies and FinTech and FinTech Capability Lead at the Swinburne University of Technology, where he created Australia’s first postgraduate FinTech program. Dimitrios brings interdisciplinary expertise spanning academia, private and public sectors, legal, nonprofit, and military domains, enabling him to advise leading private, public, and governmental stakeholders on strategic innovation, global trends, and the responsible adoption of advanced technologies.

A forward-thinking researcher and international keynote speaker, Dr Salampasis publishes in peer-reviewed journals, books, and contributes to global knowledge networks and communities of practice. His work explores the convergence of emerging technologies—including blockchain, AI, fintech, and quantum-adjacent systems—with geopolitics, sustainability, and digital transformation. He also holds several international visiting professorships and memberships in international organizations/think tanks, reflecting his global engagement across education, policy, and innovation ecosystems. As Non-Executive Chair for Quantum Computing at The Digital Economist, Dr. Salampasis contributes strategic leadership and thought guidance on frontier technologies and their systemic implications.
