William Vogt is a geopolitical risk analyst, China and emerging markets specialist, and multilingual cross-cultural advisor with expertise spanning technology, international politics, risk management, and the relationships between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. He has advised government and corporate decision-makers on geopolitical developments, trade, immigration, technology policy, and strategic risk, with particular experience across China, Latin America, and the Indo-Pacific. His work has appeared in global media and academic and policy publications, and he is a scholar of Portuguese and Chinese languages through programs supported by the Camões Institute and Hanban.

William is an Expert Guild member at Mission Grey, where he leads research teams and advises C-suite decision-makers on geopolitical risk and emerging cross-regional developments. He previously served as a Senior Executive Fellow at The Digital Economist, where he led multilingual research on technology policy, AI, Internet governance, and international politics, authored more than 10 publications, and organized and moderated a panel at Davos. He has also held policy and analytical roles supporting U.S. government and defense priorities, including at Calhoun International, A1C Partners, and II Corps Consultants, where his work focused on China, Latin America, and the Indo-Pacific. William has taught at Georgetown University and The Catholic University of America and is the author of a textbook on Chinese Internet culture based on courses he developed and taught. Earlier in his career, he worked in geopolitical risk and corporate risk consulting at GeoQuant, Gallagher, and Marsh, and founded Weilian Poder Global Consulting, advising U.S. companies on China-related sourcing, trade, and market risks.
