
AI systems are ubiquitous, with the ability to contribute close to $20trillion to global GDP. It will touch every walk of life – the IMF predicts40% of jobs worldwide will be impacted by AI. AI is not onlytransforming economies, industries, and jobs, but societies and theplanet too. Despite significant onboarding of AI in the post-pandemicera, we are already seeing a widening gap of access and use fueled byAI geopolitics, infrastructure needs, regulations, and supply chain. Thepurpose of this policy brief is to report on the various features of the AIdigital divide and suggest policy recommendations to bridge the gaps.
